As of September 2014, I have embarked on the journey of writing a book. Modeled after some of my posts that I call Small Joys, it will be a memoir about grace and hurt and beauty and tears. It will be about finding small moments of joy in the midst of an otherwise ordinary life.
The manuscript is currently in the works and is not currently in any sort of publishing stage. I've already found such value in the process of writing and have seen how transforming it is; I've started writing chapters on one topic and realized by the end that it's about something else entirely, and that's ok. Non-fiction allows that, memoir-writing allows that.
I've been blogging for several years and have an intense love for the written word-- both reading it and playing around with words myself. I feel like it's only fair to myself to give this a shot, and if it's nothing more than a coffee table book in my family's home one day, then I've done my job to produce something meaningful. And if it takes on another form entirely and is mass produced, well that would be just lovely as well.
Shoot me an e-mail if you have book-writing tips, questions about the book, interest in editing it, or contact with a friend in publishing, I would love to hear from you.
